A Northern California staple, Philz Coffee has become a lifestyle for many Californians, myself included, by serving one cup of perfect coffee at a time. With 13 locations in the Bay Area and plans to expand, Philz baristas craft each cup of coffee individually to make getting your morning cup of joe a personal experience. Founded by fedora-wearing, coffee master Phil Jaber, Philz is known for its laid back, friendly vibe and quirky decor including a wall of mugs for regulars known as 'Very Important Philzters' and various funky hats available for purchase. You really can't go wrong with any of Philz's handmade blends, but I would recommend Jacob's Wonderbar or Mocha Tesora (dark roasts), Tesora or Philharmonic (medium roasts) and Canopy of Heaven or Sooo Good (light roasts).  If you unfortunately don't live close to a Philz, the company also has a coffee subscription service, where a bag of freshly roasted beans is delivered to your door once a month.

My local Philz has a sunny outdoor seating area and cozy lounge upstairs-- perfect for reading a book while enjoying a delicious cup of my favorite Philz dark roast: Jacob's Wonderbar Blend. Next time you're in the Bay Area, I'd definitely recommend stopping by a Philz Coffee for a chance to recharge with some caffeine and a great book.

I die.
